| I hold BS and MS degrees in Chemical Engineering from Virginia Polytechnic Institute in Blacksburg, VA. Upon graduation in 1970, I joined The Dow Chemical Company (Dow) in Freeport, TX. My entire career was spent in research in various aspects of Dow's polyolefins business. During my career with Dow, I gained valuable experience in pilot plant and manufacturing operations throughout the global Dow world. The opportunity to work in a global context throughout my career has provided me with a strong background in cultural diversity which is so important in today's global economy. I was instrumental in the development and implementation of both DOWLEX* and INSITE* technologies. Additionally, I have managed contract research projects and have been involved in technology licensing and the management of a multi-company, multi-national joint development program. I retired from Dow in June, 2001 after 31+ years of dedicated service. My career of 31+ years has provided me with a wealth of experience ranging from process engineering to the more complex engineering issues of polymerization and polymer handling. This background provides me with a unique insight into the global polyolefins business. * Trademarks of The Dow Chemical Company back |
